El Oso y el Madroño

This is my way of keeping those who care up to date on my minor adventures in Spain for the fall 2008 semester. It should stay pretty interesting since i have taken cero classes on the Spanish language, and surprise, everyone here speaks Spanish.

My arrival was pretty smooth and all my luggage arrived. I was also able to find Ashley pretty quickly and find out where we were headed. Jake on the other hand had a few more problems. One of his bags was lost and after filing the claim he realized that although someone was supposed to come pick him up, no one was there. Luckily everything turned out fine, but it was hard leaving him at the airport in that state.

Ashley and I went straight to our senoras house and carried all our luggage up to the third floor (I had to help her out a little). Paloma had the door open for us and was SO excited when we walked in. I felt bad because after carrying all that stuff up the stairs I was really sweaty and gross, but she didn't seem to mind and had a huge smile on her face. She only speaks Spanish, which makes things challenging at times but it is helping me learn. It was a good start, and Paloma is making the
adjustment go as smooth as it possibly can.

My trips planned:

October 3-5 Dublin, Ireland

October 17 El Escorial, Spain

November 1 Toledo, Spain

November 7-10 Geneva, Switzerland

November 14-17 Munich, Germany

November 20-24 Rome, Italy

November 28-30 Roxanne is visiting!

December 5-7 Malaga, Spain

December 12-14 Paris, France??? Possibly??
